Modernist visual language is one of the main themes explored in a site-specific project by these two young Finnish artists. In May 2018 they shot a short film in Maison Louis Carré that sets a starting point to their working process, dealing with utopia, visitor, spectator, and parallel situations/realities. The title Lighthouse comes from Virginia Woolf’s novel, To the Lighthouse, published in 1927. Her use of multiple perspective and simultaneity, in relation with the modernism in visual arts, was an especially fruitful reference for both artists. The works presented include, besides the film, drawings and photographs.
