I have known the house for a long time, in architecture school, by the big GA in my library with Yukio Futagawa’s photos. Then came the walks with my sweetheart who knew where the house was hidden, then the encounter with Asdis when I first visited with my students, then the receptions and exhibitions… I even had my birthday party there.
I’ve photographed it much, with friends, students; more rarely alone. I’ve photographed it in colour, in detail, in all kinds of weather…
This work on the Maison Louis Carré, in black and white, came later, a bit like those magazine photographs of a bygone era; a house with its wrinkles as a testimony of a state at a certain moment in relation with what it was and can become. But I don’t only show the marks of time…
